Abstract

Device for improving the performance of a trimaran. The invention relates to two devices making it possible to keep the tip of the floats out of the water during sailing or when tacking (coming about) and to reduce the deceleration due to the lapping of the water. One of the devices consists of a "foiler" (5) forming an integral part of the hull (4). The inwardly curved shape of the "foiler" (5) makes it possible to obtain, with the lapping of the water, an upward vertical thrust, thus lifting the front of the hull (4) preventing the risks of ploughing into the water. The devices according to the invention are particularly intended to improve the performance of the said sailing boat.
