Abstract

The invention relates to the protection of the hands, for a number of diverse uses, in cold or damp weather. It comprises fairly full tubular sleeves 1 made from rubber/natural or synthetic foam, through which pass the controls 9 that the hands have to grasp; these controls 9 may or may not pass through a thin open or closed channel 2, whilst a collar 7 fixed around the wrist may reinforce the protection. These sleeves are intended for sailboarding, water skiing or snow skiing, hang-gliding, etc., as well as for any other use in which the hand has to continuously grasp a similar object designed for a specific use, for example: helm, wheelbarrow handle, etc.

Description

 The present invention relates to hand protection for the practice of certain sports. namely: board. sailing, water skiing, snow skiing, hang gliding etc etc.

The protective gloves and mittens designed for the practice of these sports in the bad season (cold, wind, rain, spray) are often:
10- Hot and thick but because of this, quickly impeding circulation, causing cramps and cold in the hands.

 20- Flexible and not obstructing circulation, but too thin and not isothermal.

In both cases, the hand intimately in contact with the inside of the glove suffers from a loss of heat which is all the greater, as the air circulating rapidly on the outside of the glove is either cold or humid; both for water sports. sports
In addition for some / eities above, it is sometimes necessary to have bare hands to quickly perform a maneuver (untie a rope, to get out of a delicate situation etc etc), maneuvers which exclude the wearing of gloves without forgetting the risk losing these.

 In addition, it is always cold in the hands that compels the practitioner to abandon his favorite sport, the other parts of the body can more easily be protected.

 The sleeves according to the invention make it possible to avoid these drawbacks; indeed: the hand, entirely free, gloved or not, is protected by a tube of natural or synthetic foam foam with closed cells, textured or not ("lycra", jersey etc) quite ample and of sufficient thickness for it keep its tubular shape; the hand is only in contact with the interior of said sleeves for brief moments, their size making an air space around the hand.

 According to a first variant to be fixed in the bad season a thin conduit passing through the sleeve and around which the hand tightens a determined command (thumb up or thumb below) is continuous.

 According to a second removable variant, this conduit is open in its length, making it possible to fix the sleeves on the controls for which they are intended, while a flap closed by a 1, velcro "ensures the closure of the ends of the flexible conduit as well as the protection of the exterior opening.

 According to a third variant, a simple hole in the lower part of the sleeves makes it possible to introduce a ski pole and its dragone.

 For these three variants, the protection can be perfected by attaching around the wrists a removable collar of the same nature as the sleeves.

 The accompanying drawings show the sectional views of the three variants, their development before sewing or gluing, as well as the collar to be attached to the wrist.

 FIG 1- The tube 1 of cellular foam surrounds the hand closed on the thin conduit 2 inside which slides the rod 9 (wishbone, spreaders, control bar etc); the diambrum of this thin duct 2 will be wide enough to allow the passage of the clamps intended to pass through it but without exaggeration so that the sleeves remain in their place once the hands are removed; the removable collar 7 prevents air from circulating too freely.

 These sleeves object of the invention will be of great use for the practice of sports such as windsurfing, water skiing, snow, hang gliding etc. etc. as well as for certain other uses where the hand must permanently grasp a object of the same form as those used for these sports.

Claims (3)

 1. Insulated sleeves to protect the hands against the cold in the practice of sports such as: windsurfing, water and snow skiing, hang gliding, etc., characterized in that they consist of a tube 1 made of rubber foam, natural or synthetic with sufficiently ample closed cells and of a thickness allowing to maintain its tubular form; these tubular sleeves being crossed by the controls 9 that the hands must grasp, while removable collars 7 of the same nature (foam), fixed to the wrists, strengthen the protection of the hands.  2. Sleeves according to claim 1 characterized in that the controls 9 are entered through a thin conduit 2 passing through the sleeve.  3. Sleeves according to claim 2, characterized in that the thin duct 2 is open in its length, thus allowing the sleeve to be removed while a flap 3 closed by velcro "(4 and 5) ensures the closing and the protection of it.
