Abstract

The float surfboard is propelled by the rider, using vertically displaceable propulsive elements actuated alternately or in unison to generate both uplift and forward movement. Fasteners secure the elements to support cables (6,7) extending from aft anchorages (4,5) to an elastic attachment (10) at the front. The anchorages may be located on rigid tail fins (2,3) whilst the cables may serve to return the elements to the repose position. The fasteners may comprise shackles, the elements each comprising a vertical driving rod (13,14) with a supple flipper mounted on the foot at a nominal inclination to the perpendicular.
