Abstract

Device for the <<concertina>> folding of limp materials of small thickness in the form of a sheet. The invention relates to a device permitting very high accuracy concerning the overlap and the parallelism of the folds, as well their marking and ironing by pressing. Its mechanism is designed for holding and guiding the material to be folded from its introduction into the device until the end of folding. It consists of: - a fixed table 1 flanked by two casings 2, the whole unit constituting a frame mounted on castors 3; - two holding rollers, one being a pressure roller 7 and the other a drive roller 8; - two automatic stops 11 defining the starting position of the rocking arm; - a photoelectric cell for detecting the cloth 13; - a balanced guiding rocking arm 10 actuated by two pneumatic cylinders 17; - two pressing bars 14 and 18 actuated by pneumatic cylinders 15; - motorised belts 18 for removal. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for folding cloth articles.
