Abstract
Physiological data such as systolic and diastolic pressures are recorded and achieved only when they have been validated. This information is processed by a microprocessor system which receives the physiological signals from external equipment and also requests new measurements to be taken when an erroneous value is detected. A portable processing installation receives analogue or digital signals from sensors on the patients arm. An A/D converter in an input output circuit converts the signals for connection via a data line to a microprocessor with active and passive memory systems. A keyboard and display printer allow data or commands to be entered and read out. A modem allows the system to be connected to telecommunications equipment or to a telephone link.
