Abstract

The source comprises a housing(12) for receiving a light bulb(18) and batteries(30, 32). The bulb is connectable to the batteries by a switch controlled by a control device(44) in a mount(14). When the housing(12) is located on the mount(14) and the control device(44) is supplied with A.C. supply the bulb is disconnected. If the A.C. supply fails, the bulb is automatically connected to the batteries by the device. Pref. the device(44) is a coil which cooperates with a secondary(54) in the housing(12).
