Abstract
The wind or water power plant generates electric or hydraulic power on a small scale for domestic purposes. It uses a venturi to increase the velocity of the air or water. When using windpower, a rectangular duct is mounted on a pole so that it can be turned to face into the wind. The interior of the duct (2) has curved walls (6) to form a venturi. A paddle wheel (10) is mounted transversely in the duct at the narrowest part of the venturi and drives a generator (21) via a belt (20).
