Abstract

The bale loader comprises a chassis mounted on wheels with a hopper which can tilt about a horizontal axes. The hopper has a grab which picks up bales leaving an adjacent conveyor and deposits them into the hopper by the return tilting movement. The jaws of the grab are mounted to the hopper so that they are opened when the bin is in a loading position but close automatically when the hopper is tilting. The jaws are hinged together in such a way that their gripping faces are parallel to the vertical walls of the bale they are picking up.
