Abstract

The seat, especially vehicle seat for public transport, consists of sections with a matching shape which lock together. An outer trough-shaped piece (2) forms the back-rest and seat and has seat and back rest cushions fitted into them, over which a covering is stretched. An inner frame (10) partly covers the sections. The outer trough-shaped piece (2) incorporates reinforcements; both the seat and back rest are shaped to the body of the user. Around the outside of the outer trough is a rim with cut-back part for clipping into the matching edge of the inner frame. The cover has a bulge such as hem (14) around it into which fits a strip of wedging in a recess formed by the rims of the outer trough and inner frame when clipped together.
