Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation d'esters alkyliques de l'acide oxalique. Elle est caractérisée en ce que l'on fait réagir un nitrite d'alkyle de formule : R-ONO, où R est un radical alkyle comportant 1 à 10 atomes de carbone, avec le monoxyde de carbone, en phase gazeuse, en présence d'un catalyseur constitué d'au moins un métal tel que palladium, rhodium, iridium, platine, or et/ou leurs sels, à une température comprise entre 50 et 500 degrés C et sous une pression au moins égale à 1 bar. Ce procédé, simple et bon marché, exempt des inconvénients de l'art antérieur assure en particulier des rendements élevés en produit de haute pureté et constitue un réel progrès de la technique dans ce domaine.The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of alkyl esters of oxalic acid.
