Abstract

L'invention concerne la fabrication des fibres optiques. Elle se rapporte à un procédé dans lequel un tube 10 de verre destiné à former le revêtement d'une fibre optique constitue un creuset dans lequel des quantités successives de matière d'âme, ayant des indices de réfraction croissant progressivement, sont fondues et étalées sur les parois par centrifugation. L'ensemble est ensuite porté à la température de ramollissement du tube 10 de revêtement et est étiré sous forme de fibres optiques à indice variant progressivement. Application à la fabrication des fibres optiques pour communications.
