Abstract

The cathode ray tube oscilloscope has automatic brightness control throughout signal transients by the removal of any non-linearity from the brightness control voltage. Signals to the vertical deflection plates are delayed with respect to the sweep start. The brightness control includes a differentiating circuit whose input is common with that of the delay line, and feeds a control signal forming circuit whose output is one input of an additional circuit. The focus voltage control circuit is driven from the addition circuit and is itself directly connected to the tube focus electrodes.
