Abstract

The monitoring equipment cuts out a gas-fired heater esp. in a central heating system of supplying hot water, when there is any hindrance to the discharge of hot gases due to sooting of the heat exchanger or overloading of the burner. The heater body contains an immersion tube, the position of whose lower end is fixed in relation to the ribs of the burner and the bottom of the heat exchanger. The other tube end discharges in the top part of the heat exchanger. A device sensitive to each temp. rise is exposed to the gas emerging from the upper end of the tube of the tube and cuts off the gas to the burner or operates an alarm.
