Abstract

The solar energy collector consists of two sheet metal plates enclosing a heat exchange fluid convoluted channel. Both plates are made from aluminium sheet with impressed open channels. The plate exposed to the solar radiation has a black surface. The exposed panel is larger than the inner one and the outside panel edges are folded over to form a box containing insulating plastics foam, pref. polyurethane foam. The aluminium sheets are bonded with thermally conducting adhesive materials. The convoluted tube is placed into the pressed channels. Pref. a top cover is provided made of acrylic glass. The solar energy collector is readily produced and it does not require special housing and it has high solar energy collection efficiency.
