Abstract

The transport system serving urban or suburban districts has automatic speed and braking control using detectors on vehicle spaced by fixed distance. Vehicle (5) on tracks follows lines (L1, L2) each with number of locations (L11, L21) defined by crossing over of conductors (1, 2, 3, 4) forming the lines. On one line (L1) the spacings between crossovers are chosen to be travelled in equal and constant time periods taking account of track profile and stations. Spacings on other line (L2) are equidistant. Detectors on vehicle sense cross over points.
