Abstract

The boiler has cylindrical or oval inner and outer casings forming a water jacket(5) between them. This has insulation(7bis) on its outside. The space inside the jacket forms the combustion chamber and has a grate(4) at its lower part. Wood is fed into this through a hopper entry at the front. A semicylindrical hood is suspended inside the upper part of the combustion chamber. It surrounds the fuel and leaves a small space between itself and the inside of the water jacket. This forces the flue gases to flow past the wall of the water jacket.
