Abstract

Layers of sheet insulation materials are aligned between layers of strips of conductive metal (copper) assembled into a spiral winding by use of insulating pegs to align holes predrilled in both the insulating and the conductive strips. Esp. claimed for assembly of windings for high power alternators, to avoid the use of excess borders on the insulation strips. Pref. the pins are made of glass-reinforced epoxy resin, as a force fit into the holes, may be threaded for insertion by screwdriver to also clamp the layers together.
