Abstract

The building block (1) has a truncated pyramid shape, to build domed roofs. Each block in a dome is identical, having parallel top (2) and bottom (3) faces, and sides (4) of a common inclination. The summit angle alpha of the base pyramid may be 6 degrees, the angle beta subtended by each side and the base being 87 degrees. Nine hundred blocks may be used to build a half spherical dome (6), with the sides of all blocks extending to converge on the dome centroid (5). The base (3) dimension of the block may vary depending on the required dome size, and the dome may provide both the roof and walls of a building.
