Abstract

The support backing can be rigid, flexible, porous or non- porous, its surface being first coated with a layer or film of varnish. This layer is then cured and hardened by air drying or by subjection to heat. The master for transferring the required image comprises a support coated with a decorative motif, constituting pigments and inks which sublimate under the effect of heat. The varnished surface is heated and the master applied under pressure. The inks are transferred by heat into the varnish to form a permanent image.
