Abstract

The boom is fitted to a tractor and comprises a fixed mid-section (15) equipped with an extending arm each side. Each arm (6,7) is in two lengths (6a,6b,7a,7b), joined together centrally by a common pivot (25,26). One end of each boom is pivoted (8,9) onto the mid-section, the free ends each being provided with a tracer wheel (12,13). A single-acting hydraulic cylinder (14) fits under the mid-section and raises and lowers the boom between a travelling (6) and working (7) position. In the latter case, each extended arm is supported by a flexible cable (23,24).
