Abstract
The mechanism allows small batteries to be recharged manually if the normal electrical supply is unavailable. The mechanism can be built into the battery assembly and consists of a DC generator (1) driven through a multiplying gear chain (3) from a spring energy source (4) wound up in the first place by the user with a key (5). The generator output is limited to a Zener diode circuit (8) discharge back through the generator being prevented by reversed diodes (2) one in each line to the battery (7).
