Abstract

The articulating knee splint has two symmetrical portions, each comprising top and bottom femoral and tibial uprights hinging together and mounted on the sides of the leg. The hinge pin (12) joining one of the uprights (6) to the link (7) coupling it to the other (5) passes through an elongated hole (13) in the link. The lengthwise axis of the hole extends towards the hinge pin (11) joining the link to the other upright (5). In order to limit the hinging movement of the tibial upright, the link can have a flange (7a) forming a stop for both the uprights.
