Abstract

New complex Fe salts (I) are derived from a ferrous salt and mixt. of 7C acids, acid-esters and oligomers (dimers, trimers and tetramers) obtd. by reacting heptanoic acid with the enol form of n-heptaldehyde in an oxidising medium. (I) are useful as combustion catalysts for liq. fuels, e.g. heavy fuel oil and domestic heating oil, giving reduced particulate emissions. They have good oil solubility and a high Fe content (6-22 wt.%).
