Abstract

Cradle for erection, transport and putting into place of an off-shore structure comprising a metallic tower the feet of which are capable of resting on the sea bed through the medium of ballastable bases is formed by the bases connected by the bases connected by beams capable of being dismantled and removable ballastable floats fixed onto the bases. Construction is simplified by prefabrication in a dockyard of the elements constituting the floats and the tower, eliminatng heavy lifting gear. Adaptability of the platform to the sea bed on which it is to be installed is maximised. If the ground has enough cohesion, the platform behaves as a platform with a heavy base and driving in of postsis unnecessary. Delays in installation on the final site are reduced because of erection of the whole of the platform on a protected site and its transport by the cradle to the final site, limiting operations at sea. Costly elements e.g. the floats and the beams connecting them are recoverable and re-usable.
