Abstract

Multi-layer carrier film for hot transfer decoration comprises a three layer combination of an infusible film sepg. two layers of thermoplastics film. One thermoplastics layer can be fused to adhere to e.g. a supporting fabric, the other to secure the decorative component. Suitable for applying a coloured flock to parts of a supporting surface of fabric/wood/metal/film, etc. by a simple iron-on procedure, e.g. for decorating sports clothes. Typically, the thermosetting layer is based on an amino, urea, melamine or phenolic resin condensed with formaldehyde, the thermoplastics layers on olefin, acetate, vinyl, styrene or polyamide based resin. Infusible interlayer prevents direct impregnation of the supporting material by the superficial decorative material.
