Abstract

An electric razor has a cutting head with blades which moves in relation to fixed combs. Bars which are pressed against the skin enable looped whiskers to be cut which would otherwise require other methods. A cutting head (2) of a razor (1) has four straight combs (3) parallel to the long sides (4) of the head. The combs are arranged to form a convex surface and several rectangular openings allow the whiskers to enter to be cut by cutters moving w.r.t. the openings. The cutters are fixed to a carriage which rests on balls on a fixed support (8) to move in a lengthwise direction. A series of bars (11, 12) are parallel to the combs and have teeth (13, 14) which protrude slightly from the cutting surface. These uncurl the whiskers to allow them to be cut.
