Abstract
In a sealing device for tubes for the passage of thermo-couples, provided for aneuclear reactor having a series of thermocouple junction wires passing through the reactor wall, and comprising (a) a series of cylindrical tubes each of internal diameter permitting the easy reception of one such wire, (b) a sealing block with a series of cylindrical bores traversing it from end to end, each bore being sized to receive with a certain amount of play one of the tubes for the passage of a thermocouple wire and having an enlarged part at its upper end, the improvement whereby (c) anti-vibration means are each fixed to the upper end of a bore in a cavity formed in the block by a clamp fitting by previous shrinkage of the antivibration means and fitted round one of the tubes for the passage of the thermocouple wires, in such a way as to be in contact with it by pressure, and (d) each of the tubes for the passage of the wires is fixed on the sealing block by a structural weld by complete fusion at the lower end of each tube. Not only provides a seal device with a pressure barrier for the tubes for the passage of the thermocouple wires, and eliminates vibrational problems but can also be tested hydrostatically to meet the actual safety standards.
