Abstract
Fertiliser compsns. esp. in granular or pellet form contain >=20 wt.% plant nutrients and 25-80 (pref. 40-60) wt.% gypsum. The base fertiliser pref. contains at least one of (NH4)2SO4, K2SO4 and kieserite, the latter being present in minor amts. The gypsum retards the release of N-based nutrients (specifically NH4 sulphate). Plants grown with gypsum-contg. fertilisers give higher yield than those grown with the same amt. of neat fertiliser.
