Abstract

The pot (1) is used for catching lobsters and crayfish and is made from plastic in several parts, these interlocking together and capable of dismantling for storage and transportation. The body is in halves (2, 3) of openwork construction and hexagonal in cross section when assembled by means of sockets (6, 7, 14, 15). Each end (4, 15) is hexagonal in shape and of similar construction, being held by locating bosses when in position. In the top is an opening (8) for a conical insert (9), preventing crustaceans leaving the trap. A calibrated rectangular opening (10) each end permits undersized fish to escape and receptacles (11) are provided for weighting the trap.
