Abstract

The control of fungi is effected by contacting them with a 4-alkoxy-pyrazole of the formula: In the formula R1 is H, 1-5C alkyl, allyl, benzyl or phenyl. R3 is phenyl optionally mono-substd. by halogen, CH3, C12H25 or n-OC4H9 or is naphthyl R5 is phenyl opt. substd. as for R3. R4 is 1-18C alkyl, 3-4C alkenyl, 3-4C haloalkenyl, 3-4C alkynyl, -(CH2)n-W in which R6 is H, CH3 or phenyl, n is 1 or 2; U and V are each H, halogen, 1-4C alkyl, OCH3, CF3, CN, NH2 or NO2; and W is OH, halogen, CO2C2H5 or n-OC7H15. Also, plants are protected from attack by fungi by application of (I) to their foliage.
