Abstract

The floating load launching and recovery equipment incorporates a lifting device capable of raising the load or supporting it above the water. In addition, it has a balancing unit allowing a lifting effort to be applied to the load while floating on the water which is less than its weight and preferably roughly constant. The lifting device and the balancing unit can be arranged to act on a jib pivoting on an axis which is horizontal. The jib has a hook or grab engaging with the load and a winch for a rope which is attached between the load and a point near the grab etc.
