Abstract
The method is for detecting at a station the presence of equipment observing that station. The method is based on estimating the radiant energy originating at the station after it has been reflected by the observing equipment. One important application involves determining on board an aircraft the characteristics of a modulator system proceding the sensitive cell of equipment which controls the flight path of a missile aimed at the aircraft. Laser energy (11) is emitted from the aircraft in the direction of the modulator system (15) on the missile (17) and the energy reflected by the sensitive cell is demodulated (26) on board the aircraft.
