Abstract

Straightening machine has rolls arranged in pairs on drive-shafts located in a row of stands, the rolls forming grooves to match the cross-section of the product being straightened; some of the pairs of rolls drive the product through the machine whereas the other pairs bend the product in at least one prescribed plane (I) during straightening. The bending rolls are mounted in stationary stands and each is fitted with an individual drive moving it in a desired direction. The individual bending roll drives pref. consist of eccentric bushes keyed on the drive shafts, the rolls rotating freely on the bushes; adjustment is pref. provided in a second plane (II) at 90 degrees to (I), the combination providing bending in numerous planes. High speed straightening of large profiles, e.g. bars and pipes, is thus possible.
