Abstract

The chair of tubular construction, has support plates (4) fixed across the back and seat sections. Each plate is made from a rigid material and has upturned side flanges (6) screwed to the chair frame. Each cushion (5) has a base (8) of flexible material, shaped to fit inside a rigid support plate. Padding is placed on this base and covered by a suitable material. Each cushion is retained by a stud (11), on each flange of the support base base, clipping into a hole (12) in the flexible cushion base (10) to form an invisible fixing. Cushion material is easily replaced if damaged.
