Abstract

The audio-visual unit is used for presentation of specific audio-visual information, e.g. in a museum or art gallery, and employs a magnetic tape machine (B) and a synchronised optical projector (A). The tape player (B) and the projector (A) are controlled by an electronic control unit (D), associated with a coin-operated actuator (C). The projector (A) is associated with an optical system including two mirrors (E, F) and a translucent screen (G) for displaying film slides. Two projectors may be used, the projectors synchronised by respective sets of control signals, provided along respective tracks of the magnetic recording tape. The unit is completely automatic and will rewind the tape and visual information when the user headset is replaced in the unit.
