Abstract

A bent rod 1(a) is used. It joins the support of the sunshield to its frame. The rod is hollow and can be made either from tube or rolled from flat plate. The hollow part of the rod may be used to house wires etc to control various accessories. The sunshield pivots on the end of the rod, in the usual way. The accessories which can be used in conjunction with the sunshield, fed up the hollow rod are cables for a lamp to light a map reader, vanity mirror, loud speakers, devices which are pressure or vacuum operated. Other advantages are to give lightness, ease manufacture, and reduce price.
