Abstract

The figure provides animation and similar effect for cinematograph and similar uses. It comprises a baseplate (1) on which can float a slotted plate (2). This provides a support for a smaller plate, controlled by a rod (8) to simulate eye movements. Another strip is pulled over this for closing the eyes. A rubber plaque has facial openings, these being rod operated (26) for facial expression, including a device for blinking the eyes (16). The whole unit is concealed under a top plate (42) representing a body (45) with rod controlled movable arms (46, 47), an opening (43) being left for the face. Selective colouring conceals unwanted control rod movements.
