Abstract

The device is arranged immediately downstream of the dust filter (6) and communicates with the outside air. The device provides a means which allows the filling level of the dust filter to be checked continuously and at the same time the suction force to be adapted to the medium to be processed. The parts of the device are combined to form a unit (4) which can be operated and read off easily. Projecting from the vacuum cleaner housing (7, 8) is an operating element (13) which has an aperture (5) for the supply of fresh air. An indicating means is arranged in the operating element, which indicating means consists of two cylinders of different colours which are connected to a tension spring and are displaceable relative to one another. The gripping surface of the operating element (13) is made of transparent material and forms the window for the indicating means.
