Abstract

The key end of the cylinder core (2) has a groove (4) on its circumferential surface. This groove accommodates a ring (5). The ring projects beyond the cylindrical surface of the core (2) and into an internal circumferential end groove (6) of the cylinder housing (1). The ring can have either a round or rectangular cross-section. The ring is open in the region of the key channel. The groove in the cylinder is narrowed at the ends of the ring by collapsing the groove edges. The ring is made of hard material which resists drilling. The ring rotates with the cylinder core.
