Abstract

The assembly is used to lock a towing ball (1) in the towing head (2) of a tractor. It has a ball housing in a partly spherical opening (4) in a folding jaw (5) worked by an L-shaped lever (6) via a cam (11). There is a spring (16) and another (10) around the pivot (7) of the jaw. The cam is fixed at the lower end of a vertical shaft (12), the upper end of which is fixed to the lever (6). The spring (16) assists the cam to block the ball (1). The cam is held by a pin passing through the shaft (12).
