Abstract

A relay having a laminated magnetic core comprises a yoke having between its two branches (2, 3) a permanent magnet (4). A shunt (8) between the branches, which can be adjusted by an air gap, consists of extensions of the laminae of the two branches, overlapping each other, with non-magnetic material between the thin laminae. A movable armature (1) overcomes the restoring force of the spring (5), which is slightly less than the attractive force of the magnet. A driving circuit (7) is wound on a branch (2) of the yoke, so that for a given direction of the driving current, it generates a flux opposite to that of the magnet, of sufficient magnitude to cause the repulsion of the mobile armature (1).
