Abstract

The unit is used to provide vibrationary motion for a screen sorting gravel and similar materials. It comprises a fabricated housing mounted on springs supported on a fixed base. Inside the housing (11) is a rotating shaft (6), located in a bearing race each end and driven by an external motor. This shaft carries the vibratory mass, this being in the form of a fixed solid cylinder (9). The degree of eccentricity for the required performance is obtained by providing cavities (10) along the length, and around the circumference, of the cylinder. This runs in an oil bath (12) providing splash lubrication for the bearings.
