Abstract

The container is constituted by a cardboard sheet (2) folded in the shape of a tray and covered internally by a sheet (13) of thermoplastic material bonded to the cardboard (2) by a thermo-adhesive lacquer. The bottom of the cardboard sheet (2) has elongated openings (6) above which the sheet (3) of thermoplastic material forms protrusions (18) serving to hold objects, pharmaceutical phials in particular. The sheet (13) is applied against the cardboard (2) by thermoforming in a mould (8) comprising ribs (9) traversing the openings (6) in the bottom in order to give the protrusions (18) the desired shape. This container has the advantage of being rigid and of having a hydrophilic outer surface allowing the printing of a text (7) and of having a leak-tight inner surface.
