Abstract

The system is for unloading freight containers from lorries etc. the container being provided with a pair of wheels (1) at one or both ends. The end of the container with the wheels is backed against a support with a ramp, until the wheels come to bear against the support, whereupon the container end is transferred down from the lorry onto the support. Rearwards movement of the container is then continued, to complete the transfer to the support. The wheels can be detachably secured to the container corner fittings, being equipped with oblong locking bodies (5), inserted in oblong openings in the fittings and secured by turning through part of a revolution.
