Abstract
The photovoltaic generating panel consists of a flat rigid watertight rectangular slab (11) made from for example glass, ceramic. stone, or composite materials which serves as a structural support for an array (12) of semiconductor solar cells made for example from monocrystalline silicon. The panels are intended to be paced like normal tiles on a roof and so only part (13) of the slab is covered by solar cells the other part (14) serving as a support for another panels. The solar cells are protected from the weather by a watertight transparent covering made from for example a sheet of glass or polymerised resin. The extreme cells of the array are provided with connecting strips (19, 20) for the electrical output.
