Abstract

Clothes drying in automatic washing machines is improved by combining the operations of spin-drying and heat-drying. The drym moves at such a speed that the clothes are only pressed against the drum with such a force that the hot air admitted when the direction of movement of the drum changes will dislodge them. The time necessary for drying is reduced and drying is more efficient, than when spinning and heating are carried out for the same period of time.
