Abstract

Information recording matl. comprises and image forming layer which contains an organo Te cpd. contg. Te-C bonds. When energy is applied to parts of the surface a latent image is formed as a result of a change in the structure of the Te cpd., pref. to form needles of Te. Specif. claimed are (C6H5COCH2)2TeCl2 and (CH3)2N-C6H5 2TeCl4. The layer also contains a binder pref. a polyvinylformal, a sensitiser. spec. 9:10-phenanthrene-quinone, a reducing sugar e.g. glucose, a small amt. or org. solvent spec. DMF and a polyether cpd. The energy source pref. is visible or u. v. light. The development is pref. carried out by heating. The image forming matl. is novel and can be developed dry.
