Abstract

The parent patent describes the type of screw top for bottles made from pressed metal. The metal cap is sealed onto the bottle top by means of a groove in the neck of the bottle, the end of the cap being rolled to conform with the profile of the groove. The bottle may be opened by tearing off a central strip in the bottle top. The strip has perforated sides so that it may easily be torn. The present invention is an improvement to the main patent in that the retaining seal which remains on the neck of the bottle is backed by an additional ring (13) in the neck of the bottle.
