Abstract

Washing and cleaning agnets are based on a mixt. of (a) 30-75 wt % alkylpolyethercarboxylic acid salts CnH2n+1O-(CH2-CH2-O)m-(CH2)p-COOMe, where n = 9-20, p=1 or 2, Me = alkali metal or ammonium and m = n/2.4-n/3.5, and (b) 70-25 wt % alkylpolyglycol ethers CnH2n+1O-(CH2-CH2-O)m-H. The mixts. can be made by reacting the alkylpolyglycol ether with 0.5-0.6 mol Na chloroacetate. The mixts. are used at 5-50 wt % (on total compsn) in washing and cleaning agents, in conjunction with anionic- and non-ionic surfactants, CMC, silicates, perborate, enzymes, optical bleaches, etc.
