Abstract

At reat, the shuttle magnet assembly of magnets polarised perpendicularly to the direction of movement, alternately polarised, lie over, and are attracted to, the similarly arranged driver part, with a small air gap between. The driver perpendicularly orientated magnets are smaller and between them have magnets polarised in the motion direction, whose poles are, on the air gap side, arranged with like poles of the perpendicularly orientated magnets. When the driver moves, its poles are displaced to come towards like poles of the shuttle magnets, which repel, giving not only driving force but also separating force levitating the shuttle to eliminate friction.
